In 2008 I came up with the title, Homo asapiens, to describe my own life and those of others sharing my reality. Two years later, this play on words had grown into a novel. It was published in Slovak in May, 2011 by Slovart Publishers.
I collected the material throughout the whole of my working life; turning it into a novel took only eight months.
The book became a bestseller on the small Slovak market, and the Czech translation was issued in 2012 by Mladá fronta publishers in Prague.
In 2014, so that anyone in the world could read the story, the book was translated into English – after all, members of the homo asapiens species live as much in London, New York or Singapore as they do in the streets, cafes and open space offices of Bratislava, where the story is set.
